Real Madrid’s winger, Vinícius Jr received a red card in their La Liga game against Valencia for going aggressive following racial chants from the opponent’s supporters.
After much scrutiny, the red card has been annulled. He, Vinicius, can play against Rayo.
According to Carrusel, Valencia is expected to be sanctioned by the Competition Committee for what happened vs Real Madrid — accused of yelling “monkey” at the winger.
Meanwhile, FC Barcelona’s coach, Xavi seems not to be happy about the decision of the committee, according to Partidazocope.
Xavi: “I’m surprised that Viní Jr’s red card got annulled. It’s undeniable that there was an aggression. I have made my position regarding racism clear but I think the red card has nothing to do with it.”
The 22-year-old Vinicius was shown the red card in the 97th minute of Los Blancos’ drama-filled 1-0 defeat to Valencia this past weekend. Vinicius hit opponent, Hugo Duro, in the course of his protest.
